A topic (interest) splits one mailing list into smaller interest groups. Subscribers sign up once, then pick which topics they actually want — and they keep that choice under their own control. On this page you create and rename topics; each topic is just a name.

Managing topics here

  1. Click "Create a new topic" and give it a clear, subscriber-facing name (e.g. "Monthly newsletter", "Product news") — subscribers see this label, so make it self-explanatory.
  2. Link the topic to one or more mailing lists from the list settings. A topic only appears for subscribers of the lists it is linked to.
  3. Expose the topics on your subscribe and unsubscribe forms so contacts can pick and manage them themselves.
  4. Build a campaign segment that targets one or more topics, and send only to interested contacts.
🚧

Deleting a topic affects subscribers

A topic that is still linked to a mailing list cannot be deleted — unlink it first. Deleting a topic also removes that interest from every subscriber who had it.

👍

Why this helps

When subscribers choose what they receive, fewer of them unsubscribe completely — they simply untick the topics they are not interested in and keep the rest.
